The Mass Gymnastic extravaganza this year will feature two different performances, Day and Night shows, in Pyongyang's May Day stadium.

The new Day shows, will present under the slogan, “Prosper, Our Fatherland,” will depict the epic future of the DPRK as a thriving nation in the foreseeable future. The show will focus on economic efforts commensurate with the nation’s status as a power in terms of ideological, political and military might and will commemorate the 60th anniversary of the National Foundation Day of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea on September 9, 1948.

The show will introduce the catch phrase "Yongbyon Silk Girl," an allusion to Yongbyon’s historic reputation as a region of silk production and an effort to revamp the image of Yongbyon as the site of the country’s nuclear facilities, including its plutonium reactor. That theme will be in conformance with the DPRK’s removal from the U.S. blacklist of state sponsors of terrorism and the bright future of the DPRK as a strong and people-oriented power.

This new Evening performances of the classic "Arirang Mass Gymnastic Games,” featuring 100,000 performing artists, will debut in May Day Stadium  beginning on August 4th until the end of September this year.

Tour Dates from Shenyang:

Starting from Day 0: one day before your departure to Pyongyang, Meeting at Shenyang Taoxian Airport by our driver, transfer to Chilbosan hotel in Shenyang. After check-in, your passports and your payment for the trip in Euro cash will be collected, DPRK entry visas processed. During your stay in Shenyang, we shall provide you with full service including room charge, 3 meals, visa fee, tickets, and transfers to/from Shenyang Taoxian Airport on the day of arrival and departure; By flight-out(Shenyang airport): 15:00 p.m. Departure in Shenyang Taoxian Airport.
You can also go to the Chilbosan Hotel independently (please inform us about your decision beforehand). A room in the hotel will be booked for your name..

By Train-out (Pyongyang train station): 10:10 a.m. departure from Pyongyang to Shenyang(22:15 p.m. arrival), China) and arrive in Beijing 08:23 a.m. next day.

The 15th day of the Eighth Moon(September 14th, 2008) is Chuseok, Thanksgiving Day. Along with New Year's Day, Chuseok (also called the Harvest Moon Festival) is the biggest holiday in Korea. With freshly harvested grains and fruits, ancestor memorial services were performed, and visits to one's ancestors' graves are made. One of the dishes prepared for this day that cannot go unmentioned is songpyeon (rice cake). Inside songpyeon, freshly harvested sesame seeds, beans, redbeans, chestnuts, or Chinese dates are stuffed. Then the songpyeon is steamed over of pine needles.

On the night before Chuseok, all the family members sat around and made songpyeon, looking at the full moon. Particularly, single men and women tried their best to make songpyeon as pretty as possible. That was because one was believed to be able to meet a good-looking spouse only if one was able to make good-looking songpyeon. During Chuseok, people share wine and food, and play games. Games such as sonori (cow play), geobuknori (turtle play), ganggangsullae or ganggangsuwollae (a country circle dance), and ssireum (Korean wrestling) were performed, creating a lively atmosphere.
