 INTERNATIONAL TRAINS:
DPRK Korea is accessible by rail route from China , Russia and Mongolia . The current capacity is as follows:
There are 4 international trains a week between Beijing and Pyongyang and back again, DPRK staffed trains are Saturdays and Wednesdays and Chinese staffed trains runs on Mondays and Thursdays.  There is only one class of accommodation available for the 24 hour journey and that is soft sleeper class meaning 4 beds to each berth(standard soft sleeper cabin).12 berths to each carriage. Each carriage has 2 western style toilets and a samovar for boiling water available for the whole trip.
Trains depart 10:10 a.m. from Pyongyang to Beijing (via Dandong and Shenyang , China ) and arrive in Beijing 08:23 next day.
Trains depart from Beijing to Pyongyang , 17:25 and arrive 18:00 next day in Pyongyang .

Restricted Articles:
The prohibited items are arms, drugs, pornography etc. Immigration officers may examine your baggage and will frown on books/articles about DPR Korea printed in the West and South Korea . Please do not bring in any item that may risk confiscation. You will be asked to declare currency and electronic items such as cameras, radios, MP3 players, iPods , video cameras providing they are used for personal viewing only and you abide by the restrictions on what can be filmed.Please do not take mobile phone with you. There is no limit on currency. DPRK regulations state that you cannot take a lens over 150 mm into the country.


Insurance:
All of Europe and countries such as Canada, Australia etc. have diplomatic relations with DPR Korea and they support tourism. No specific vaccinations are required for visiting the DPRK but we ask you to check with your doctor for advice before you travel.
We cannot be held responsible for any mishap to yourself or your property and in particular any consequence or sickness or other such happenings. You are advised to insure yourself against any possible risk that may occur and in particular to ensure that sufficient insurance has been obtained in respect to any dependant relatives. It is your responsibility to be covered by insurance which must include adequate cover for baggage, medical expenses and the cost of repatriation should you become too ill to continue. Any claims must be directed to your insurers. If you have a medical condition which may affect your health or safety in DPR Korea you must inform us before visa application.
